I’m supposed to be writing, my story, not this blog post, but I can’t help myself. I’m wired on caffeine and I feel like I have bunches to share. I guess I’m just excited. My agent is working on two different deals right now, so I’m anxious there. I booked my hotel and flights for New York in March. I’m going to the PASIC conference. I’ve also made arrangements to see the New York debut of THE PIRTAE QUEEN a fabulous Broadway musical. Not only is number two daughter, my mil and aunt going but my sil and niece as well. Can’t wait to see everyone. I have my first chapter meeting tomorrow as president of the San Francisco RWA chapter, American Idol starts next week and so does the First Line Contest! Life is good. It would be perfecter when the first draft of JADED is complete. This time next week, it will be a fait acompli.

Okay, so enough about me. What’s going on in your world? Something exciting? I haven’t been hitting the loops and blogs lately, I’ve been very diligent about my writing, so fill me in. Who has good news?

There is absolutely nothing going on in my world. My wife is now up all night and doesn’t even come to bed with me anymore. She’s flying off to New York in March, her Saturdays are filled with writers meetings, soon she’ll spending every evening watching American Idol and mornings reviewing entrees in some contest she’s running. Geez!

  2. Karin

    No complaining!

  3. Amie Stuart

😀 I’m working on a proposal that i absolutely LOVE!

  4. Karin

How exciting! I can’t wait to get back to writing my historical, ONE WICKED KNIGHT. 🙁 But I’m not slated to pick it up until May.

    What genre is your proposal?

  5. Kristi

I actually got some fun news this week – I’m a new editor over at Soaps.com…I work on the All My Children pages. basically I post show updates, comings and goings and will even get to interview the actors from time to time. 🙂

The best part? It won’t cut into my writing time, because I take a break from about 1-3 anyway.

  6. Mommie

Still working on STUFF.., You KNOW what I mean..Catch yah later..Love Yah Baby..

How exciting, Kristi! Do oyu get to interview the actors face to face?

    Ok, Mom, waiting…

  8. Edie Ramer

    Kristi’s job sounds like fun!

I’m working on my revisions. I went through my middle of my first draft and listed the scenes I’m cutting and keeping. Now I have to thread in my new ideas. After that I finally get to write it. I’m looking forward to that stage.

ok – been beavering away on Night’s Cold Kiss getting it ready for Megan McKeever (Ready by the end of this weekend.) So I decided that I might see about querying agents.

With in three days of sending out email queries to the top 5 agents on my list – I have 2 requests – 1 full and 1 partial. 2 out of my top 5 – I’m gobsmacked, happy and terrified that when they read it they’ll see I’m just a big pretender.

At the moment my feet are situated about 6 inches of the ground as I float around on my cloud of happy, nervous energy. As for sleeping and eating – there’s no way. Oh well if nothing else, I may lose a few pounds.

Sounds like fun, Edie, I love reworking a story.

Tracey, I remember that feeling! I can’t wait for you to get that full to Megan. I’m excited for you. This part of the journey is so nerve wracking but also exciting and fun. Good luck!!!

My life for once is queit. I’m writing a lot..And just in general enjoying my peace…And I finished a scarf I’ve been knitting forever…

  12. Kristi

I’m looking forward to it. I’m not sure how the interviews will work – since the soap is shot in NY and I’m in OH, probably most over the phone or through email…but if they come my direction, I’ll be seeing them in person. 🙂

  13. Karin

Lee, quiet is good. My mil is knitting scarves. I love mine.

Kristi, let me know when you interview Susan Lucci.

  14. Stephe

Revising synopsis of series Book 1… starting chapter 5 of WIP series Book 2… drawing more maps of my world to keep the one I have company, because the one truly isn’t enough and my crit-mates are threatening to stomp me into the ground if I don’t… taking care of the folks, giving my son love, and crafting my butt off when I get the chance…

    Soaps.com? Congrats, Kristi!

  15. LaDonna

Excited about your contest, Karin! LOL. Let’s see, getting revved to embrace the revision goddess in me. hehe. Yep, gal pals forever, she and I. Okay, I’m doing a mind-thing okay? An affirmation of the highest order, conjoling the goddess to play nice. I’ll let ya know how that’s working for me. 😯

  16. LaDonna

Crap, forgot to say congrats on all the grand things coming your way! You go! I can’t wait till deals and broadway shows enter my radar!

  17. LaDonna

karin, I see you don’t have the shock thingie-guy. Looks pretty stupid in Colons, doesn’t it? Go figure!

  18. Karin

Stephe, the fact that you have one world map and are working on another is impressive. I so don’t have the imagination for that, and I need it for the para novella I have to write.

LaDonna, I’m excited about the contest as well. I’ll be cheering for you. And trust me, you have deals and broadway shows in your future too, your very near future!

  19. LaDonna

    Smooch, Karin!

  20. Zoe Winters

  24. Tracey

It’s kinda good timing to send my request of the eve of the next first line comp. I didn’t even realise until just now.

I holed up and worked all weekend (and cleaned house). Karin I’m not sure, I guess it’s either light urban fantasy, or paranormal, depending on how you define either of those–where’s May? 😀

I love going to a Broadway show. I’ve been writing like crazy, even in my sleep, well at least that’s when I’m getting my ideas and waking my dh up. I think his about to kill me. But when you have to write those ideas down you have to. I try to do it with the itty bitty light. I even do it in the bathroom, but even that wakes him up. He thinks I’ve fallen in or something. I just can’t win. Gotta write, though. 🙂
