AI, RT and Dancing

First off, am I the only one who thought Heather Mills was a bit bitchy in her departure? She practically blamed the chick judge Karianne (spelling). Give me a break. I tried, I really, really tried to warm up to her, and every time she opened her mouth I asked myself, “What the hell was Sir Paul thinking?” I’m glad she’s gone. Now the hard part: I like everyone left, even Billy Ray. I think either Apolo or Laila will dance away with the title. That Laila is something else. And Apolo and Julianne? I just love watching them.

Now on to AI. I’m not really in the mood to do a detailed recap. In fact, as I watched them tonight, I don’t think I wrote any more than two lines each. No one was awful, and the stand out to me was Jordin. I think she will be the next American Idol. I think Phil stepped up as well. He’s growing on me. It was kind of weird not having Sanjaya there. I have to admit he sure made things interesting.

Now on to RT. I’m off in the wee hours of the a.m. for Houston. I’m actually looking forward to it. Mostly because REDEMPTION is in the can, and my agent loves it (always a very good sign) and I don’t have to start revising JADED until I get back.

I’m looking forward to hanging out with Hilary, my friend Sharon Long and Liz Kreger. Allison and Sylvia will be there too. Lot’s of familiar faces, and I’m bound to meet a few new ones. I’ll keep y’all abreast of the happenings. 🙂

Oh, speaking of Hilary, she received all of the First Line finalists’ entries safe and sound. So? Now we wait. She’s usually pretty quick about theses things. So hopefully some good news soon.

With that, my dears, I am off to finish my packing and then attempting to get about two hours sleep.

I am stuck on who should win Dancing. Even my husband is really getting into it. How can you not like Apollo and Julieanne? They are adorable together and I find myself smiling big grins everytime they dance. But how can you chose, Apollo & Julianne, Layla & Max, or Joey & Kim they are all so good. Bid you goodbye Ms Mills you won’t be missed. And Karin you are so right, it must have been grief that skewed his thinking.

You didn’t write more than two lines each on AI tonight because so much of it was blah. I did like Melinda’s second half, Chris’ second half, Phil’s second half. But Jordin, wow, the girl is talent and emotional performance all rolled up in one. AND SHE’S ONLY 17. Oh wait, I’ve gotta vote again.

It must be an awesome feeling knowing the book is in the bag and you can breathe for a moment. congrats. Have a great weekend.

Karin, great to hear you have a moment to catch your breath and can enjoy RT. Have fun!!

I don’t have a favorite yet for Dancing, but I have to agree, I was glad to see Heather go. She started out pretty good, and I admired her, but then it seemed like something changed, she did get a bit bitchy. I think she went on the show to live down the image as Sir Paul’s ex, and found it wasn’t as easy as she thought.

  4. LaDonna

Hey, Karin, have fun at RT. Sounds like a fun group of gals you’ll be hanging with. I don’t watch Dancing, and AI is winding down. My vote is Jordin. Thanks for the Hilary update too. It’s nail-bittin’ time again. lol.

Thanks for the update about Hilary. Hope you have a blast at RT!

Apollo and Laila are my favorites on DWTS, though no one can compare to Drew Lachey IMO. I had so much fun watching him. (Compare as in making my pulse skyrocket–not nessarily dancing wise.)

I hope they have a competition at some point with all the former winners. 🙂

  6. Edie Ramer

I think Jordin is great, although Melinda’s my favorite. They’ll both have a fabulous career after AI.

I haven’t been watching the dancing. Have fun at RT!

And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Hilary asks for fulls from all 5 finalists. 🙂

  7. Mommie

Mommie says..Oh what the hell. AI only had Sanjaya as a “Idol Contestant” of interest. I really do belive that had Sanjaya not been on the show this time, it would have been very..very..dull, with no one in particular to pick on. Granted, Sanjaya would not have won the title of “American Idol”, and I do belive that most of the voters and the judges agree. However, my dear daughter, you must agree that this kid is one to be reconed with in the very near future. Kind of reminds me of some of the memories of my early “raising the kids” stick, and the “Eat your heart out” awsome song your mommie wanted you guys to love..Oh yah..

    Love yah,

    Your Mommie

  8. Kristi

Have fun, Karin! And have a drinky-poo (or two) for me…Can’t wait for the days I can afford RT and RWA in the same year! 🙂
