The First Cut is the Deepest!

Well, not really. Only annoying gristle was trimmed tonight. No meat. So, for me there were no surprises. There is more gristle to go next week too.

For the ladies tonight, Amy and Joanne bit the big one. I actually thought Amanda was going to get the boot, and Joanne sounded far better with her farewell song then she did last night. Amy? Gawd, Bad. Bad. Bad. Hubby asked if Haley was going to be back this year. I smacked him and said, no.

So on the guy side, Garrett and Colton hit the road. Neither one belonged on that stage, and their farewell performances proved it. What pisses me off is, had the judges pushed Kyle through (instead of Colton), Kyle would have wowed us Tuesday night and still been up there, and maybe, Danny would be gone instead. I think Danny didn’t get voted off because Vote For the Worst is messing with us again. Whatever. As last year, the cream will rise to the top.

I’m feeling a little cranky about the lackluster performances by some of these Idols. Ripped off even. They had better step it up next week.

Now a word about Paula. I will admit this: I liked her video. Mostly because she sang, and danced, and didn’t talk. 🙂

So, thoughts?

And who do you think has potential they haven’t shown yet? I’m thinking Jacuzzi ‘er Chickezie will step it up next week, and the singeing server won’t. I think Amanda will change up her act, because if she doesn’t, as Cele said, a one tune wonder, won’t have staying power.

What is interesting this year is the fine line between the top six and the bottom six of both sides of the competition is more like the Grand Canyon. This year you either have it or you don’t. I have to agree with you Karin, how did Colton make it and Kyle not? I was in shock then and I’m shaking my head now. I don’t get it.

I didn’t expect Joanne to go, while she didn’t step up to the task last night, she was audibly more during Wednesday night’s competition than several singers who remain seated on the girls’side.

And I can see Danny’s attitude is going to grate on my nerves as fast as Sanjaya’s did.

Cele, I didn’t expect Joanne to go so soon either.

    LaDonna, birds of a feather…muwhahahahahaa

Karin, I love Raniele and think she has great potential. Besides, she’s a shorty and I love that. LOL. Michael and Jason, of course. And I think Amanda will be in for a while. I agree, there’s more gristle to go.

All the farewell songs were painful to listen to. I sing better in the shower, which isn’t saying a lot. Although Joanne was better than some, she wasn’t good and would have gotten voted off sooner or later.

There are so many good girl singers and a few guys, I’m not making any predictions.

I really didn’t mind any of the cuts that were made. I agree on Kyle though – I think he would have been a serious contender. It’s a little early for me to claim any favs, but I do like the guy with the dreads (hate the dreads) and I like the blond girl with the curls, she makes it look so effortless.

YOu mean she LIP SYNCED and danced. 😀

I totally agree w/ya’ll on Kyle….I agree w/you on cranky but then, I’m NOT a fan of 60’s music

My hubby thinks David Hernandez is going to shine (but I think that’s because he kinda looks like him). 🙂 Has Paula always been so conversation-challenged?

Laurie, I think we need to start a recall for Kyle!

Yo, Ames, yu just shattered my image of Paula!

Virna, your hubby does look lie David Hernandez. Lucky girl. 😉

BTW everyone, Virna teamed up with some other chicas to form http://www.chasingheroes.com go check it out.
