Monday Hit and Run Challenge!

March 3, 2008 | Karin's Blog | 19 comments

As many of you know, I am woefully behind on my writing. What with a kid moving back home, with her bird, her dog, and her fiancé, life has been a bit topsy-turvy over here. But in a very good way. I love having the kids here. So, ignore me if I grouse.

Now, I am publicly throwing down the writing gauntlet. I need to write 30 pages today. Yep, you read that right. 30 pages. I’m working on NAUGHTY SANTA and really enjoying my two characters, Kimberly and Ricco. Ricco is turning out to be quite the complex man. He’s a charmer, and she’s all business.

Tomorrow I have to write another 30 pages. I plan on checking in here after every 5 pages I write. Anyone want to join me in my little challenge? J
ust post your goal in the comment section and check in as needed.

Ready, set, go!

Oh, and good luck!

I would love to join u, but unfortunately I have not been procrastinating lately. So I am pretty much caught up on everything. I told u u should come out and spend a couple of nice quiet weeks with us.

That’s a crapload of pages, Karin.

    I need 2000 words today. I’d like 3000, but I’ll settle for 2000. So far I’ve done 400. Bleh.

  3. Hubby

I have some research to do first but hope to get well into chapter seven. Let’s say five to six pages today…

  4. Karin

    5 pages done!

    5 more on the way!

Jaci, if I can do it you can. Write on girlie, and hubby? you have been a writing machine. Write on.

  5. Jaci Burton

2330 words! I made my writing goal for the day! I’ll see how much more I can get done today.

  6. Karin

Great job, Jaci!! I just hit 4 more pages. My back is killing me. I’m taking the pooch for a walk.
    But, I’ll be back!

  10. B.E. Sanderson

Holy crap. You’re really cranking out the pages! I’d join you, but I’m not writing new words right now. I’m editing and working on my submission packet. I’ll just cheer you on from the sidelines.

    Go Karin! :waves pompoms:

  11. Jaci Burton

I stopped at 2400. The Sarah Connor Chronicles tempted me.

Looks like you rocked your goal, Karin!

  12. Virna

You’re so great Karin! I wish I’d read this yesterday. I’m frantically revising, more because I have to get this MS done for my own sanity. I need new characters to think about!

  13. Cele

Wow, now I feel depressed. Impressed by ya all, but depressed at my lack of words, sentences, paragraphs, pages, chapters, inspiration.

    My heros.

  14. Karin

Cele, you inspire. No words required!

Virna, when you’re ready to begin your next story let me know, I’ll write along with you.

Jaci, AI is going to interrupt me tonight.

Beth, revising is the best part of writing!

My goal for today is 25 pages.

  15. Amie Stuart

I wish I’da known! I would have come over and written with you–figuratively speaking hehe

  16. Karin

Amie, it’s on today! Write on.

  17. Amie Stuart

I”m leaving for home in ten….I’ll check back in about 6 my time after I get the kids fed! 😀

  18. Karin

    Amie? How many pages???

  19. Edie

Love the excerpt and copy, as you know. Congrats on reaching your goal yesterday! I’ve been reaching my goal too, but since it’s a read-through, I won’t post on comments here. I went through 120 pages yesterday, another 120 today, and I plan to do 120 tomorrow. On Thursday I’ll type in the changes, and hopefully I’ll be done by Friday. 🙂
