Hump Day!

August 21, 2008 | Karin's Blog | 7 comments

Not that kind of hump! Naughty girls. Okay, so I had a rather tumultuous day! My sweet widdle Shih-Tzu, Coco, almost died today! She fell in the pool and no one knew!!! Thank god that little dog figured out she had to swim to the side and climb up the steps to save her furry butt. And that’s saying a lot, because we have a big ass pool, and she’s all of seven pounds! It’s weird, I heard her daughter, Zoe, barking like crazy and figured she was just harassing the cat, but I think she was trying to tell us Timmy fell down the well.

Of course Coco has long since recovered, and I’m on my third Xanex and fourth martini. Ok, I had a cup of coffee, but still…

So, I had to share my dog’s near death experience.

I also wanted to mention I’m blogging over at Pink Fuzzy Slippers tomorrow. C’mon by and say, howdy!

Ciao for now, goils!

Scary, Karin! So glad Coco is safe and all that long hair didn’t drag her down. My big-ass sheepdog fell in once, and yes, it scared the bejeebers out of me because she can’t swim! Pets are so much more than ‘just pets’, they’re family!

Eek! I’m so glad your little Coco is okay. I’d probably freak out if anything like that happened to my baby kitty. (But she’s afraid of outside, so we don’t really to worry about pools or cars or wild animals.)

Good golly, what a way to start the day. Glad your sweet pooch is A-okay, Karin. Bet she stays close to you for the rest of the day.

Oh, Karin! I’m so glad she’s okay.

I think we’re in the last days with our dog. She was our first baby, is now a 13 yr old dalmatian, but she’s stopped eating and is dropping weight really fast. When I got home from Hawaii I was shocked at how skinny she’d gotten just in our week away. We’ve had her at the vet, have her on medication, but after four days she isn’t perking up. I’ve mentally resigned myself to the fact this might be it, but my daughter’s another story. She’s having a very hard time with the whole thing.

Having pets is sure rough sometimes.

Karin, glad to hear Coco is okay after her swim. How scary for her and you.

Coco said to say thank you for all of the well-wishes and it was her daughter, Zoe, who pushed her into the pool for the insurance money, but what Zoe didn’t realize is that Coco was on the Toy Group Olympic diving team.

Eli, sorry about your dalmatian. My English setter is only 8 and we can see she’s getting arthritis already. I’ll have to get some of the dog glucosimine pills for her.

Karin, your news is happy, because Coco make it out all right. And now she’s blaming Zoe, when Zoe was really trying to save her. I know mothers like that.
