I know it wasn’t me!  The show didn’t get started until wanna be Idol number 4, Allison, took the stage.  She was weird talking to Ryan in the red room but boy did she come alive on that stage.  My fave of the night.  Megan wasn’t bad. And Mishavonna wasn’t bad either. All of the others put me to sleep.  Well, except Norman.  I wish the guy would just get rid of the schtick, and serious up, coz he can sing.  But, until he can take himself seriously no one else will, and IMHO he doesn’t deserve to be the next American Idol.

You know who disappointed me the most tonight?  Adam.  I really had hoped he’d nail it, but his theatrical flare ruined it for me.  I dunno, maybe I’m being too picky.  But I’ll tell you what, and I don’t know what it’s going to take to get into these kids heads, but they need to play to their strengths!  Stop experimenting, go with got you there, and do it better each week!

Same thing applies to writing.  Gah!

So, what do you ladies think? Did someone have to wake you up midshow? And raise of hands who is going to watch DWTS?????

Okay, I’m hitting the sack.  It’s been a very long day, and I have to be up and attem’ early.

Nite, all.

I forgot to vote! I did like Adam, but I wasn’t going to vote for him. I figured he would get a lot of votes. I was sorry for some of the singers who won’t go on. For Matt to say — after every single judge said he’d picked a ho hum song — that he chose the right one, well, he deserves to be eliminated.

I was going to vote for a few of the girls. I really liked Megan. I think she’ll get through. But I agree about it being boring. I’m not sure if I’ll sit through next week’s show.

  2. Jaci Burton

It was a snorefest and most of them chose the wrong songs for their voices. Hope it gets better with the next group. Bleh.

  3. Margaret

Yeah, overall it was pretty boring! I never vote (oopsie, just too cheap, I guess).
Allison should swing through to the next round. She may have acted weird, but you have to remember she’s just a kid (17, I think), but DAMN she sang the hell out of that song!
Adam will probably go through, but sorry, I really got tired of looking at his tongue.
Overall, very disappointing. I really wanted the guy who takes care of his mom to do well, or the piano guy, but they were, as Simon says, forgetable.
I think the third slot should go to Mishavonna.

I was rather surprised at how many of them had pitch problems and too many flat notes. There wasn’t one of them who didn’t, not one of them who was perfect.

Voting? Yes, I voted for Adam, Mishvonna, Allison, and Megan. I liked Megan the least of my votes – but she has an incredible quality to her voice, her and Allison both but they need better control.

Snort fest? I didn’t even havet to take my pills last night.

  5. Virna

Hey, I agree. Snooze fest for the most part. I couldn’t even watch Norman. I had to leave the room. All I kept thinking was that someone really talented missed out on a spot so he could be jokester. Hope the day was good tiring!

  6. Margaret

Speaking of Norman, was I the only one that thought he’d do really, really well as a DRAG QUEEN?!

  7. Amanda Murphy

It was so forgettable that I can’t remember half of their names. Allison was good. Megan has such a soulful tone to her voice, a little like Norah Jones. I didn’t like any of the guys. And I hate Norman took some singer’s spot to be able to act like a lounge act on the Love Boat.

  8. LaDonna

Hey Karin, I thought Adam, the 16 year-old gal that wowed everyone, and the angel face with the blond hair, big tatoo on one arm, were the cream tonight. I’m terrible at names, and especially at this early stage. 😆 They all have star quality, though, and hopefully will grow throughout the competition. I’m looking forward to the 12, and where they’ll take us. There’s some serious talent in that 36, and can’t wait to see who floats to the top.

  9. Randy

Eeek. Last night was pretty scary, huh? I can barely remember anyone except the blonde with the tattooed arm. I liked her. And the last guy (especially since I SHUDDERED when he said he was gonna sing Satisfaction, then came out and rocked it). But, truly. I could stand to lose any of them, and that’s a bad sign!

Bad, Edie! You must vote for your faves!

Jaci, what is it with these kids and choosing the wrong song? They need to stick with what works!

Margaret, it doesn’t cost to vote! well at least it didn’t before. but i think they are toll free. I think Kia, the guy who takes care of his mom, might squeak through.

  11. Karin Tabke

Cele, it was odd how not good they were. and you would have thunk they’s get it by now. Tonight will be interesting.

Virna, I was really hoping Norman would come out and give it all as the real guy hiding behind the schtick. No such luck. I hope he doesn’t make it to the final 12. He doesn’t deserve it.

Margaret, Norman has some deep deep issues…

  12. Karin Tabke

Amanda, i ended up going up to my office half way through. most of the others i just watched in the recap. and was glad i went up and did some work. I’m with you on the Norman front. so is hubby. he leaves the room.

LaD, Adam sure is purdy to look at, but i dunno, his drama bugs me. but i think he has talent and think of the guys in this group he should go to the next round. although matt has the sound, he just blew it last night.

Randy, eek is right! and you said it, i could stand to lose all of them and not blink.

  13. Jane

Allison was very weird during the interview, but she nailed “Alone.” Nick/Norman was the most entertaining. I will probably watch DWTS even though I’m not too impressed with the cast.

  14. Karin Tabke

Jane I’m not impressed with the DWTS cast either, but at the very least it will be…interesting. I predict there are going to be some train wrecks and trantrums.

  15. Ames

I knew Adam was a shoe-in once they made the Edward Cullen reference *barf*

  16. LaDonna

LOL, Adam’s drama barely hit my radar and I think I know why. My daughter had several friends in high school that were in drama. They hung out at our house, and I’m immune! But, give me a drama queen in real life and I flinch. 😈

  17. Karin Tabke

    So no surprises last night.

Ames i missed the Edward Cullen reference. details!

LaD the Adam drama that bugs me, is him sticking his tongue out like he’s gene simmons, batting his eyelashes, and his posing and well, he’s…irritating me. that sounds really petty, huh?

  18. Amanda Murphy

Well, I’m 2 for 3 yet again this week. I was sure Megan was going through, totally missed Chris altogether.
