Free Reads Anyone?

Do they work, do you download, do you care?  I’m furiously working on a 10-12K short story, a vera sexy medieval that will go up on the Simon and Schuster site as well as my own. I have never in my life written anything so short, but I think I can.  I wrote almost 850 words on it yesterday and realized last night I started in the wrong POV, so today I’m going to restart.  I love the characters already.  The story is simple. Hot battled fatigued knight washes up on an English shore, sexy Saxon maid finds him, and secretly nurses him back to health (heh, and boy does she!).  He was on his way to marry her elder sister when his train was attacked, and she, the second daughter of a poor lord is destined for the convent.  Whatever will they do?  Stay tuned.

So, DWTS was interesting last night. Gilles Is Hawt! The man can dance!  That’s all I have to say, oh and I predict LT or Steve-O will go home.  And why is it Lil Kim insists on her potty mouth?  I don’t think there have ever been so many bleeps in one season let alone one night. C’mon woman, show some class.

Oh, and last but not least, the Drunko ‘er Bunko Babes and I had a discussion last week at bunko and it was pretty unanimous.  Gigi is a really good name for a grandmother.  I am very very seriously leaning that way.  I have to go back and see who originally suggested it!  Thanks for all your help!

Wow Karin, your short story sounds fabulous! I usually don’t download many stories, but for one of yours I will!

I am in total agreement with you on DWTS. Can Gilles get any hotter?? I thoroughly enjoyed watching him without his shirt. All those bronze muscles . . . mercy me!!

I think it’s time for Steve-0 to go.

Let’s see. I love free short stories. If its something that goes along with something I’ve read or want to read then they usually get me jazzed up.

DWTS…haven’t watched since the first few episodes. Oh and Lil Kim only has a potty mouth.

I like Gigi for your new name.

I’m always in favour of free reads!! I’ve found some new (to me, at least) writers that I like that way. I usually download them to my computer. Thanks for thinking of us that way!!

P.S.: Gigi is a great grandma’s name, especially pronounced in the french style! lynn

I enjoy free reads. Sasha had a free read on her website which – it what got me to reading her books. Maya Banks has an epilogue of one of my favorite books by her. I say go for it. 🙂

Karin, I love free reads. It may take me a little bit to read them, but the author has me at ‘free’.

  7. Billi Jean

Ummmm I want that free read!!! Yummy! Sounds good. But wow, changing POV after 850 words??? Well, it might give you a side to the other character you didn’t have before writing in his/her POV!

    Can’t wait!

I normally don’t read fiction on the computer, but for sure I’ll read yours. 🙂

I love free stories! They give me a taste/tease of what a full length book will be like. I’ve started reading a couple of new authors that way. A short story is also a great way for a followup to a full length book. Author Monica Burns did that for one of her books and it was a nice addition to the ‘Happy Ever After’;-)

Me!Me!Me! (madly waving hand) You know I’ll ready anything and everything you write. I wuv your stories, Karin!
